Funding research to cure, treat, and prevent Type 1 Diabetes
Breakthrough T1D
When you're a 10-year-old boy, your days should be filled with fun—playing sports, hanging with friends, gaming, and just being a kid. But when you’re a 10-year-old boy with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), childhood comes with an extra layer of challenges—constant glucose monitoring, carb counting at every meal, and changing an insulin pump site every three days, all just to stay healthy.
This became our reality on February 27, 2019, when our son Preston Rocco was diagnosed at just four years old. T1D isn’t caused by diet or lifestyle—it’s an autoimmune disease where the body mistakenly destroys insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, making it impossible to regulate blood sugar without intervention. There is no cure—yet. Managing T1D is a 24/7 battle of insulin shots, blood sugar highs and lows, and careful planning to balance food and activity.
But if you know Rocco, you know he’s unstoppable. He’s fearless, funny, kind, and determined. He loves football, basketball, golf, taekwondo, gaming, and keeping up with his big brother. T1D won’t stop him from doing what he loves, but it does mean a lifetime of extra care and vigilance to manage fluctuating blood sugars that can be life-threatening. That’s why we’re fighting for a cure
And we need your help.
On Saturday, June 7th, we’re participating in the Breakthrough T1D Walk to raise funds for life-changing research and, ultimately, a cure. Every dollar raised brings us closer to a future where kids like Rocco can live without finger pricks, insulin shots, and the constant burden of this disease.
To help raise funds we are hosting our 3rd Annual golf outing on Friday May 9th.
Let’s take steps toward a future without Type 1 Diabetes.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. 💙
